Chamiza Foundation Grant Making Priorities:

·   Programs and projects that relate directly to some aspect of the preservation and/or continuity of traditional Pueblo culture—for example: language revitalization, traditional arts and crafts, tribal history, traditional agriculture, and intergenerational exchange.

• Programs directed to youth education in cultural and art traditions, traditional agriculture, and Pueblo history that include a language component.

• Construction or renovation projects involving youth that include a language component, are central to the continuance of traditional culture, and do not interfere with traditional ways of community participation.

• Proposals from Pueblo tribes requesting seed money to create long-range plans for cultural continuity within the parameters of the Foundation’s priorities as stated above.

At this time, Foundation priorities generally do not include programs oriented to economic development, entrepreneurial enterprises, and health issues.
